Garage floor coating services

Our core service is a full polyaspartic flake system — diamond grinding, crack and pit repair, a pigmented basecoat, a full broadcast of decorative flake, and a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat. We also install solid-color epoxy, basement and patio coatings, and commercial floors.

Polyaspartic flake floors

Our most popular garage system. Cures in 24 hours, never yellows in sunlight, shrugs off hot tires, road salt, and oil. Dozens of flake blends.

$5–$8 per sq ft installed

Solid-color epoxy

The budget-friendly classic. A clean, seamless solid finish for garages, workshops, and utility spaces that see lighter vehicle traffic.

Shops & commercial

Shops, pole barns, warehouses, and retail floors. Heavier-build systems with added slip resistance, quoted per project after a site visit.

How a one-day install works

Prep is 80% of a floor that lasts. Every install follows the same five steps, whether it's a 1-car garage in St. Paul or a 40×60 shop in Lakeville.

1

Free quote

We measure your floor, test the concrete for moisture, and give you a written, fixed price — no per-square-foot surprises later.

2

Diamond grinding

Industrial grinders open the concrete's pores and strip old paint or sealer, so the coating bonds mechanically to bare slab.

3

Repairs

Cracks, pits, and spalls are filled and ground flush. This is where older Minnesota slabs get their strength back.

4

Basecoat + flake

A pigmented polyurea basecoat goes down, then decorative vinyl flake is broadcast to full coverage for texture and grip.

5

Polyaspartic topcoat

A crystal-clear, UV-stable topcoat locks it in. Walk on it in hours — park on it the next day.

Popular flake finishes

Every floor is a full-broadcast flake system — no thin "sprinkle" finishes. These three blends cover most Twin Cities garages; custom blends are available at your quote visit.

Garage floor coating pricing

Short answer: $5–$8 per square foot for a polyaspartic flake floor, fully installed. Square footage sets the base price; the condition of your concrete — cracks, pitting, old coatings to remove — is what moves a quote up or down. Every quote is a fixed written price after we see the floor.

Garage floor coating questions, answered

The questions Twin Cities homeowners ask us most — with the short answer first.

How much does a garage floor coating cost in the Twin Cities?
$5–$8 per square foot for polyaspartic flake, installed. A standard 2-car garage usually lands between $2,200 and $3,500, including diamond-grind prep, crack repair, basecoat, full flake broadcast, and topcoat. Concrete condition moves the price more than anything else — which is why every quote starts with a free on-site look at your actual floor.
How long does installation take?
One day for most garages. You can walk on a polyaspartic floor in about 4–6 hours and park on it within 24 hours. Epoxy systems need 2–3 days before vehicles return, which is one reason most of our customers choose polyaspartic.
Is polyaspartic better than epoxy?
For most Minnesota garages, yes. Polyaspartic cures in 24 hours, won't yellow in sunlight, stays flexible through freeze–thaw cycles, and resists hot-tire pickup. Epoxy costs less up front but yellows over time and is more prone to peeling where road salt and moisture reach the slab.
Will it hold up to Minnesota winters and road salt?
Yes — it's built for exactly that. The surface is non-porous, so salt brine and slush sit on top instead of soaking into the concrete and causing freeze–thaw pitting. Squeegee the slush off in winter and the floor underneath stays protected.
What warranty do I get?
15 years against peeling, delamination, and hot-tire pickup on residential installs. If the coating ever lifts from concrete we prepared, we repair or replace the affected area at no charge.
Do I need to empty my garage?
Yes — the floor must be fully clear on install day so we can grind edge to edge. Most customers use a driveway pod, basement corner, or short-term storage. Because the floor cures in 24 hours, everything goes back the next day.
Can you coat over my old epoxy or painted floor?
We grind it off first. A coating only bonds as well as the surface under it, so failed epoxy, paint, and sealers come down to bare concrete before we start. Skipping this step is the #1 cause of peeling floors — and it voids most warranties.
How do I clean and maintain it?
Sweep, and mop a few times a year. Warm water with a mild cleaner handles oil drips and tire marks; the non-porous surface releases grime easily. In winter, squeegee off salt slush as needed. No waxing, sealing, or special products required.
Which areas do you serve?
The full Minneapolis–St. Paul metro — about a 35-mile radius including Edina, Minnetonka, Plymouth, Maple Grove, Woodbury, Eagan, Lakeville, Blaine, and Roseville. See the full list in our service area section.
